So, last Saturday, one of the coldest days of the year, with snow and ice from our most recent snow still on the ground, mom gets this bright idea to take me to the park because it is sunny. I think mom’s brain had frozen because I sure was. We went to this place called Mount Trashmore – mom says in the 60’s & early 70’s it was a landfill and when it was full, it was turned into a park (I know, weird, huh?). Anyway, it’s kinda of like a giant hill which in itself is odd since where I live is at sea level.
I really didn’t think mom was going to get me out of the car until she saw the geese. Canada geese. Tons of them. Waddling and grazing up the mountain (hill) and down the other side. She decided she wanted to get photos. I told you her brain was frozen. Cold. Windy. Cold. Did I mention it was cold? So we walked through the snow and ice and mud and muddy ice and muddy snow, only to give up just short of the geese.
But she did get some photos. I just got cold. Oh, when will it be warm around here?
Here are some more photos. I hope you enjoy them. Oh – and don’t mind me complaining. A ladydog of a certain age has the right to complain and actually any time I am with my mom I am a happy dog!
Barkingly yours, LadyBird
Stay away from those Geese, LadyBird! Sometimes we get Canada geese in the park here, and they are MEAN.

We don’t blame you for not wanting to go out in the cold, LadyBird. BTW, we had a Mount Trashmore by us too. Like yours, it was a landfill but they turned it into a ski place…not a real big mountain but more like a hill. We don’t think it’s used anymore though.

I guess the city loves the idea of turning trash into play places – the 2nd Mt Trashmore is already underway but it won’t be finished for a few more years! Also, it is really stinky. ❤

I didn’t know they were mean! They certainly are big and are kinda scary looking!! I’ll stay away from them. Thanks for the warning! Mom has them at her work – she says they graze in the field next to her building and walk across the street to where she is making all kinds of noise and mess (you know what kind of mess!). She’s trying to get close-up pictures of them so I’ll be sure to warn her to stay away!! ❤
