I got to see a bridge lift!!

Okay, here’s part two of my visit to to the Great Bridge Lock Park! Did you know that bridges can break in two, split apart and lift up? I didn’t know that! Apparently they do that when boats that are too tall want to go under. Well, here are some more photos!  Enjoy them!! Barkingly yours, LadyBird

This is the fishing boat that was too tall to go under the bridge. It has these two long arms that hold nets – you can’t see them – they are hidden by the trees. I still want to be a boat dog one day!

See how tall the boat is with those net arms? And just look at the bridge! My goodness! It was so exciting!

Now you can see both halves of the bridge. What an amazing thing. I didn’t know there was such a thing in the world!! Look how small the boat seems now!

After the bridge lift we got into the car and turned the ac on full blast – it was so hot! Mom has promised me a special treat! I wonder what it could be? You’ll have to wait until tomorrow to find out!!
