It’s Cinco de Astronauts Day!

It was really hard to decide which day to celebrate – Cinco de Mayo or National Astronauts Day? We all decided to go our separate ways!

BobbieSue and Millie are in space to honor our amazing heroes, those men and women who soar into the heavens and who “Go Boldly where no one has gone before!”bobbiesue and millie in space

It’s also National Prayer Day so we are asking for Purrs and Prayers for all those on our Prayer List.

Purrs and Prayers for CJ Badge CJ is the newest one on the list – please go HERE if you would like to leave your good thoughts and wishes for her.

Please go HERE to read The President’s Proclamation of the National Day of Prayer.

“As a Nation free to practice our faith as we choose, we must remember those around the world who are not afforded this freedom, and we must recommit to building a society where all can enjoy this liberty and live their lives in peace and dignity.”

And we are including all animals, that regardless of their species, may live their lives in peace and dignity.

Manatee & Little Red Wagon

I’m celebrating Manatee Appreciation Day!!!manatee day amanatee day bManatee-Appreciation-Day-Last-Wednesday-in-March-300x150

Having a lifespan of about 60 years, manatees are calm herbivores with no known natural enemies that spend most of their time eating, sleeping and traveling.  These spectacular mammals have their day of honor each year on the last Wednesday in March, as people across the country celebrate Manatee Appreciation Day.

Manatees like slow rivers, canals, saltwater bays, estuaries and coastal areas.  As a migratory species, they inhabit the Florida waters during the winter and move as far north as Virginia and as far west as Texas in the summer months.

The most significant challenge manatees face today is the loss of habitat. Currently, there are approximately 3,200 manatees living in the United States.

Simon is celebrating Little Red Wagon Day with his girlfriend Joanie!! He’s so happy she sent him 2 photos of her for him to gaze upon. (Simon did say that the scanner he used doesn’t show how beautiful her grey furs are.)

The last Wednesday in March is National Little Red Wagon Day. This is a day worthy of making memories and celebrating the power of imagination, as adults and children alike can enjoy time together with a little red wagon.

For nearly 100 years, Radio Flyer has been bringing smiles to kids of all ages and creating warm memories that last a lifetime. As a brand, Radio Flyer has always supported unstructured outdoor play and its positive impact on children. With their 100th anniversary on the horizon, Radio Flyer would like to establish a day that not only celebrates kids’ imaginations but the vehicles that help them explore it – their wagons.

This iconic toy is one of the most enduring toys of all time. For generations, children have led little red wagons down Independence Day parade routes, carried out countless imaginary missions and voyages of childhood fantasy. It is not unusual for a little red wagon to be handed down from one generation to the next, treasured like a family heirloom.  The adventures are enjoyed by all, regardless of age.

As the weather gets warmer and spring officially begins, use National Little Red Wagon Day to encourage kids to get outside, get active and go wherever their imaginations take them.  Use #LittleRedWagonDay and tag @RadioFlyer to share on social media.

National Little Red Wagon Day was founded by Radio Flyer in honor of their upcoming 100th anniversary. The Registrar of National Day Calendar declared National Little Red Wagon Day in 2016.

Easter-Changes-Annually-300x150  Easter is observed on the first Sunday following the full moon after the vernal equinox. Considered Christianity’s most important holy day, it celebrates the resurrection of Jesus Christ.  Depending on which calendar a church follows, some will celebrate Easter earlier than others.
