Have you ever had a camera pointed in your face and you just didn’t feel like it? Well, I have. The other day I was sitting in mom’s room thinking about something sad and mom said, “Toby, look at the camera. Toby. Toby. Kitty, kitty.” She kept saying it in a sing-song voice as if that would move me. It didn’t. I was sad (and still am) and I wasn’t going to let her have her way. Why was I sad, you ask? My sweetheart, Penny, lost her sister Snowball and while I didn’t know Snowball personally, my heart hurts for Penny and Miss Ellen. I am sad for them and all the other kitties at 15andmeowing.com.
I’m sure Lucy, Spooky and Stinky all greeted Snowball at the Bridge and she is healthy and running free again, but that doesn’t make it any less painful for the ones left behind. We here at Toby’s Wrecking Crew pray for Miss Ellen and her kitties that their grief will be eased by love and comfort of God.
One of the things I did while no blogging was give Mabel and Matilda a new home!!
Mom picked it up a while ago but didn’t feel like helping me move the bird-girls until last week. It’s a smashing new home, don’t you think!! Lot’s of perches and toys from PetSmart and lots of room to fly in. It’s so big, mom is thinking about bringing another bird-girl home from Granmama’s! I’ve already picked out a name!!! I hope so!!!
Here’s a side-by-side comparison of the old and new cages. The new cage takes up the whole top of the book shelf! The downside is there’s no room for me to sit right next to them!
Don’t worry, I was very gentle when I moved the girls over – no fangs!!!
They survived the move well – and guess what – can you see – that’s Mabel in the back (higher on the perch) – she has tail feathers!!!! She’s only recently grown them so I’m hoping she’ll be able to fly soon!
Now, as for me, I’m off for another nap!!! See you soon! Love, Toby
BobbieSue reporting for WTWC News!
I have a special report about a new museum that has opened in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. It’s called Civil War Tails and is “possibly America’s most whimsical war museum.” (Karen Heller, The Washington-Post Weekly).
Rebecca and Ruth Brown, 32-year-old twins, have recreated various battles of the Civil War using clay sculpted into cat soldiers!
The sisters bought a historic house, The Homestead – built in 1869, and established their Diorama museum there. The museum was born of a love of making cat figures and of Civil War history.
Everything is handmade and on a 1:1 scale.
The trees are made of twigs and reindeer moss, each individually glued.
They have made thousands of cats as well as anything a soldier needs for battle – horses, cannons, rifles, tents – all hand made! Please go HERE to see the large size of one of the diorama’s – it’s humongous!!!
Click on their logo to go to their blog/website!!
We haven’t been to the museum, but it is on our list of places to visit!!!
I hope you enjoyed my report – I’ll be back again with more cat/animal news!!
Purrs and Prayers for
Nellie (Nellie On The Edge) for her beloved Merlin Wilde (CatWisdom101.com) who has moved on into the light. We pray also for Merlin’s family who are left with broken hearts.
The family of Daddy Cat (Jacqueline’s Cat House), who has also moved on across the Rainbow Bridge.
Good morning everyone! We have double selfies today for Sunday Selfies! First up, PeggySue and Simon. PeggySue has only been with us a week but she has fit into our lives as if she has been here forever.
Next is BobbieSue and me. Don’t you love the pensive look on my face?
Here’s a long distance selfie of MerryBelle! Since her littermate, PeggySue arrived, she has become more outgoing with the rest of the Crew and in the distance with mom. Mom has seen her more this last week than she has during the entire month she has been with us! Mom walked into her bedroom and there was BobbieSue, PeggySue and MerryBelle asleep on her bed!!! We think PeggySue is a true blessing!
We are purring and praying for the people of Orlando, Florida. They suffered a great deal of violence this weekend and loss of life. We pray the Love of the Spirit to descend upon the survivors and the families of the victims that they may know peace and love during this time of trouble.

Enjoy your Sunday!!
It’s Sunday Selfie Day!!!Nice back of the head shot, isn’t it? Mom and I were sitting with my Granmama in the living room. She came over after picking up Frankie from the crematory. I wasn’t ready for selfies or to see Frankie.
Well, maybe I’ll just take a peek. He’s in a nice carved box. I won’t show him to you because I’m sure he wants efurrybody to remember him as he was – a stylish man-cat in a smart tuxedo.
Frankie, I love you and miss you already but am happy to know you are with your mom and brothers – but we are hoping brother Moose will stay with us for a whole lot longer!
Here’s my proper Sunday Selfie!
Tomorrow is National Lucky Penny Day! Can you guess who I have a surprise for??? Could it be my LadyLove?
