Things have been a little busy around here. . .

There must be something in the blogosphere because there seems to be a lot of kitties and doggies sick right now. Not me! I’m okay – but poor LadyBird, just when she’s starting to feel better gut-wise, she goes and gets bit by a spider on her belly! She has this giant knot/abscess on her tummy. She’s been to the vet twice in less than a week, is on antibiotics, benadryl, and frequent wound cleanings. Mom asked her yesterday if she wanted to go for a ride in the car and she said NO! She thought she was going to the owie place again!! But mom surprised her and took her to Granmama’s instead. She was very happy about that and really tired when she came home. Please keep her in your prayers – we don’t want the wound to go deep.  We’re hoping to go see Santa Claus this weekend – we’ll let you know!!!!  Thank you for all the ChrissyMouse cards we’ve received. Please go to our special page to see them all!! Purringly yours, Toby

This photo of me is before I got bit. Mom's taking good care of me but I'm really tired of seeing the vet - no matter how nice she is!!!

Diesel crosses the Rainbow Bridge

This is probably old news to most of you, but it is new to us. While reading another blog (and recent new follower – thank you!!!) Little Lord Oscar Dandelion Books, we found out about a brave police dog who lost her life in the recent terrorist attacks in Paris. To honor Diesel, and other police dogs like her, we are reblogging the article here. So many lives, so many tears. We like to believe that Diesel is running free at the Bridge and even though we didn’t know her personally, we know her spirit.  With love, LadyBird and Toby

“Today, a brave police dog died for defending the people from ISIS militants. Diesel the Belgian Shepherd, shown here, is decorated with service medals highlighting a distinguished career.

…a little like losing one of our colleagues. – One of Diesel’s colleagues

“Seven year old Diesel lost her life whilst on duty with the (French) Police Nationale, when a suicide bomber activated her bomb vest at the apartment where the terrorists were hiding as it was searched by the police. Diesel, like other search dogs within the anti-terror RAID unit, are indispensible. Their job is to search for explosives. She had gone on ahead to sniff out booby traps.

“Five days ago – Friday 13th November 2015 – ordinary, innocent people were targeted in Paris attacks. 129 sadly lost their lives.

Turkey Coma & Caturday Art

Hey folks, I haven’t mentioned Thanksgiving – but we had a very nice time. Mom, Granmama and me went to my Auntie’s in North Carolina and had lots to eat – well the humans did. I didn’t see that Beast, Jack. He was outside (the weather was nice) all day because of all the people. But I did have some turkey and 2 tiny bits of ham. Toby stayed home and slept of a can of turkey cat food. It was a wonderful day – but then any day I spend with my family is wonderful!!! We’re all looking forward to Christmas in Carolina, too!  Barkingly yours, LadyBird & Toby

I'll drive!! What!? I have to ride in your lap? Well, guess that's okay. . .

While LadyBird traipsed off to Carolina - I stayed home and slept off my own turkey coma - and had dreams of catnip gingerbread men dancing in my head!!

I’ve got a big belly

Hey folks, I went to the doctor’s today. Bummer. Mom is still worried about my big fat belly. I have lost 4 ounces, though, so that’s good news. My belly is also soft – as opposed to rock hard like it was the last time I was at the doc’s. So here’s the diagnosis – doc thinks I may be backed up – in the belly area – you know – poo-wise. Gross, huh? So mom has to put these sprinkles on my food that will add good bacteria to my gut. She also has to give me some stuff to help me go. Everything else is good so mom wants to try this to see if it works. If it doesn’t, well, we don’t want to think about that now. Sorry for the gross talk but I thought I needed to explain my fat belly in the photos below!! Barkingly yours, LadyBird

See my fat belly! You may notice I have a belly button - it's actually my nippie that had the tumor in it. There was so much extra skin after it was removed the doc just stretched it over to keep the scarring minimal. Mom thinks it looks cute.

Granmama’s Birthday

We went to my Granmama’s house on Friday to celebrate her birthday! Mom and Auntie took her to the movies (they saw Pan – mom said it was very good!) while I stayed at G’s to dogsit Buddy. When they came home we had cake and coffee. Happy Birthday, Granmama!  We love you!!  Barkingly yours, Ladybird

What a pretty cake! Those fall colors are wonderful!

What do you mean its chocolate and I can't have any? That's not fair!! I blame my mom for this - she's the one that got the cake. I still love YOU, Granmama!!
