Tuxie Tuesday with PeggySue

I’m liking this perch – BobbieSue is usually up here, but I think she’s softening on me a bit and not running me off.

Oops! Here she comes! I better scram!!! 

Here’s a recent picture of MerryBelle. She’s a tabby tuxie so she counts for Tusie Tuesday! She’s really weird – she sleeps on mom’s bed but won’t let mom touch her. Maybe one day she’ll learn to love the kind touch of mom.

Before we go, we want to say a fond farewell to our friend, Fiona, over at The Cat on My Head. She went to the Rainbow Bridge last Thursday after a long and valiant battle with CKD. We will miss her beautiful grey face. (Grey cats have been a long time favorite of mom’s family.)

Remembrance Day

 Today is Rainbow Bridge Remembrance Day and we are honoring our cousins who paved the way for the Wrecking Crew.

PeggySue is in the house!

  So mom finally got PeggySue in the house! Mom spent a lot of time getting to know her, talking to her and eventually petting her. She picked her up a couple of times and put her back down and so forth. turns out PeggySue is very friendly and affectionate!

Here’s a couple of pictures of her – sorry for the graininess  – mom didn’t want to freak her out on her first night by sticking a camera in her face (like she does to me all the time!)

 

When she first came in I boldly walked over to PeggySue (I tower over her) gave her the once-over sniff, tail-flick, and walked away. As long as she stays out of my way and doesn’t take MY mom’s affection away from ME, I suppose she can stay. Mom is hoping she will help tame the notoriously camera/mom/the-rest-of-us-except-BobbieSue shy MerryBelle. She’s still around –  she’s just not friendly to the rest of us.

Simon Says . . .

 It’s summer time and you know what that means for us? Fleas. Ucky, nasty, itchy, mean old fleas.

 

Mom tried out a flea collar on me – since I’m the oldest she knew I was suffering the most so I got to be the guinea-cat. It worked but not fast enough. So she went back to the store and got the liquid flea stuff. She hates the thought of putting such a powerful chemical on us but we were suffering.

 

Two days later we were back to normal, napping in the sun, those nasty fleas bugging us no more. (Versus dashing through the house to keep the bugs off!)

 

One last thought – or, question, can anyone explain why flea medicine has to be so expensive? There must be hundreds of thousands of tubes sold each year and yet the companies charge so much money????? Are they interested in profits or our health?  Alright, I’m done ranting. I’m going to finish my nap!!

Reluctant Sunday Selfie

It’s Sunday Selfie Day!!!Nice back of the head shot, isn’t it? Mom and I were sitting with my Granmama in the living room. She came over after picking up Frankie from the crematory. I wasn’t ready for selfies or to see Frankie.

Well, maybe I’ll just take a peek. He’s in a nice carved box. I won’t show him to you because I’m sure he wants efurrybody to remember him as he was – a stylish man-cat in a smart tuxedo.

Frankie, I love you and miss you already but am happy to know you are with your mom and brothers – but we are hoping brother Moose will stay with us for a whole lot longer!
