I went to Mount Trashmore

So, last Saturday, one of the coldest days of the year, with snow and ice from our most recent snow still on the ground, mom gets this bright idea to take me to the park because it is sunny.101_2095 I think mom’s brain had frozen because I sure was. We went to this place called Mount Trashmore mom says in the 60’s & early 70’s it was a landfill and when it was full, it was turned into a park (I know, weird, huh?). Anyway, it’s kinda of like a giant hill which in itself is odd since where I live is at sea level. 101_2081I really didn’t think mom was going to get me out of the car until she saw the geese. Canada geese. Tons of them. Waddling and grazing up the mountain (hill) and down the other side. She decided she wanted to get photos. I told you her brain was frozen. Cold. Windy. Cold. Did I mention it was cold? So we walked through the snow and ice and mud and muddy ice and muddy snow, only to give up just short of the geese.101_2084 But she did get some photos. I just got cold. Oh, when will it be warm around here?

Here are some more photos. I hope you enjoy them. Oh – and don’t mind me complaining. A ladydog of a certain age has the right to complain and actually any time I am with my mom I am a happy dog!

All those little dots up there on the “mount” are geese.

This is me saying, No mom! No outside the nice warm car!

I was grumpy in these pictures

As I promised here are some pictures of my Granmama’s back yard. I am wearing one of my new coats mom is working on.

My new coat - sort of!

My new coat – sort of!

More about the coat in a minute. Aren’t you tired of brown grass? I am! It was super cold when we went outside so we didn’t stay out very long.

There's not much to see this time of year.

Mom said there are lots of pretty flowers and plants in G’s yard but I didn’t see any!

Mom has been trying to get a photo of me and Buddy side by side to compare our sizes  – this is the closest I got to him this day.

Do you see me? He is so big!

We stayed outside for about 5 minutes! Later on that night mom tried to take my picture again but I didn’t want it taken She loves that camera of hers.

Please, mom, no more pix!

G even commented on how many pictures of me she has. Mom said that she had more of the cats than of me. I do not believe her! I was just grumpy because normally I love my photo taken. When she finally put the camera down, I was able to get some sleep.

Leave me alone - let me sleep!

Next time, photos of me in a local park! And I’ll tell you more about the coats mom is working on!

On the go, again!

I went to work!

My mom had to go to work yesterday morning (it was Saturday) so I got to go with her! It was really pretty boring because all she did was talk on the phone.

Ho hum! This is really boring.

Ho hum! This is really boring.

There wasn’t anything for me to do or people to protect her against at first. She thought I might like a snack so she gave this cookie she had in her desk since before Christmas.

It doesn't even smell good.

Yuk! I can’t believe she would give that to me. It was dry and hard and all I wanted to do was bury it.

So after I got rid of the “snack” (thanks, mom) boredom set in again. I brought Rhino with me but he was no fun at all.

BORING!!!!

BORING!!!!

Then I heard something outside – a stranger walking by! Immediately I jumped up and started telling the stranger to leave!

Go away! Get back! This is my momma! You can't have her!

Oh no! He is opening the door and coming inside!

Who is he? What is he doing here?

Who is he? What is he doing here?

Oh – it’s okay. It’s only J. I don’t know him but mom does. He’s coming in to take the next shift. Whew! Another disaster averted. Let’s go home mom, I’m ready!

I'm ready to go home, now, please!

Thankfully mom understood me and I put my sweater on and we headed out the door! Back in the car and on our way !

Yeah! We're heading home!!

Yeah! We’re heading home!!

Please check my Friends page – I added a new friend! Her name is Roxy and she is very pretty!

See you next time! Barkingly yours, LadyBird

I don’t like to share!

Another cold day in Virginia.

I don’t like to share my mom, my food, or my toys. Every time one of those beastly cats gets any where near my stuff I have to chase them off. My mom keeps telling me to be nice to them but I don’t pay her any attention. With that in mind, do you know what she did? When we went outside the other day, it was still cold but Toby had been bugging her for days to go out so she decided – oh I can’t even bear to say it

I can't believe mom put MY sweater on a CAT!

I can’t believe mom put MY sweater on a CAT!

– but I will anyway – she put MY sweater on Toby! A cat! She put my beloved sweater given to me by my Granmama on that big orange body! I just know he stretched it out. And he didn’t even like it.

Just look how big he is! Look how LadyBird-sized my sweater is!

He hardly walked around like he usually does – he even begged mom to take it off!

Toby is asking mom to take off my sweater.

Toby is asking mom to take off my sweater.

I kept an eye on him because who knows what he will do? That crazy cat might decide to rub up against a nail and get a snag in it. Or he might claw it up!

You better not mess my sweater up!

You better not mess my sweater up!

I really need to talk to mom about what is mine is mine and not the cats!

The sweater looks so much better on me, doesn't it?

Well, I guess it's okay if he where's it this ONE time.

Well, I guess it’s okay if he wears it this ONE time.

I don’t care if they were here first.

Mom needs to remember, I am LadyBird and I am in charge!

Oh, and one more thing, here’s a nice selfie since I am not really in any of the above pictures!

What a beautiful face!

Another cold day in the backyard!

It may be cold but I still get to go outside – but only for about 10 minutes! As long as I wear my coat, mom lets me run around after she gets home from work.

Toby doing what he always does - eat grass!

See how I get to run around free while Toby has to be on a leash? Mom is afraid he will jump the fence and be gone but I don't think so. He loves mom way too much!

Stay warm everybody!

Isn't the blanket beautiful? My auntie made it for me for Christmas (mom thinks auntie made it for her, but she's wrong!)
