Simon Says . . .

 It’s summer time and you know what that means for us? Fleas. Ucky, nasty, itchy, mean old fleas.

 

Mom tried out a flea collar on me – since I’m the oldest she knew I was suffering the most so I got to be the guinea-cat. It worked but not fast enough. So she went back to the store and got the liquid flea stuff. She hates the thought of putting such a powerful chemical on us but we were suffering.

 

Two days later we were back to normal, napping in the sun, those nasty fleas bugging us no more. (Versus dashing through the house to keep the bugs off!)

 

One last thought – or, question, can anyone explain why flea medicine has to be so expensive? There must be hundreds of thousands of tubes sold each year and yet the companies charge so much money????? Are they interested in profits or our health?  Alright, I’m done ranting. I’m going to finish my nap!!

We remember. . .

Today is the day we celebrate the lives of valiant men and women through the ages who served their country and made the ultimate sacrifice in defense of Freedom. Mom tells us that she has had family members die in service to their country as far back as the Civil War (she thinks the Revolutionary War as well, but its too early in the morning to check with Granmama!). 

We want to especially remember mom’s uncles:  Philip, Oscar and Claude, Jr. who served during WW2.  Uncle Philip is the only one who remains (he’s in his 90s and is Angel LadyBird’s father). We honor, remember and thank them for their service and sacrifice.

Selfie-Time!!!

Yesterday my mom abandoned me for my Auntie’s house in North Carolina. She said the weather was too nice to stay inside. On the plus side, she had Jack take a selfie. He refused to look properly at the camera but its a nice selfie anyway!!

 

When mom was at Granmama’s the other day she got a photo of a really cool skink!

 

And finally, my distant selfie!! I climbed on top of the cabinet of scrapbooks in the closet and got this shot!

Heat Advisory and Friday Fill-ins!!!!!

First the super important stuff!!!

Today is National Heat Awareness Day and I wanted to take a moment to remind humans to be careful of their pets in the heat! Yesterday when I posted photos of me outside, it was in the mid-80s. I had wanted to go outside earlier but mom said no because it was TOO HOT!!! Mom says if its too hot for her its too hot for me!! So these pictures of me are taken in the cooling part of a warm day – not during the hottest part of the day.

So if you go outside during the warm days of summer, make sure you go in the early morning before 9am or in the late afternoon, maybe after 5pm – or even later depending on the temperature!!!

It’s Friday Fill-in Time!!!!

1. Whatever happened to the new harness mom promised me? I’m using BobbieSue’s – and it has her girly scent all over it which I don’t like!
2. I always stay home on Memorial Day ( or your country’s equivalent) but mom goes to granmama’s for a cookout – except when she has to work (like this year).
3. I used to wish I could live outside, but now that I am older, I realize how fortunate/blessed I am to have a happy home indoors!
4. I just cannot get enough treats at treat time, no matter how much mom tries to stop BobbieSue  – she still scarfs her treats down like a dawg and then butts me out of the way to eat mine! She even ignores me when I hiss at her!!!
