Yesterday my mom abandoned me for my Auntie’s house in North Carolina. She said the weather was too nice to stay inside. On the plus side, she had Jack take a selfie. He refused to look properly at the camera but its a nice selfie anyway!!
When mom was at Granmama’s the other day she got a photo of a really cool skink!
And finally, my distant selfie!! I climbed on top of the cabinet of scrapbooks in the closet and got this shot!
We hope you have a wonderful Sunday !!
That skink looks like it’s blushing.
Hope you’re having a wonderful Memorial Day weekend.

That skinky thing looks so interesting. Mom says she’s heard of them but never seen one. We’d never seen one either. Jack is very handsome. He looks a lot like our sweet Fiona. And Toby, you are always handsome. Thanks so much for hopping along again this week. XOCK, Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid, Lisbeth and Calista Jo

Skinks are really cool – at least we think so! This is a new one to us – the one we saw last summer was really dark brown with yellow stripes and a bright blue tail! Both are native to Virginia. Thanks for not running away screaming from our blog!!

Sorry – I should have put up a warning notice. We usually do when we post pictures of snakes but didn’t think about it with this guy.

Lovely selfies and clearly gone to great heights to secure the perfect shot. Being an inquiring princess, is that Skinky edible? purrs ERin

I don’t know if he is edible. I probably wouldn’t eat him, though. I would like to play with him!!

Thanks for visiting! Skinks are pretty common around here – they’re kind of a cross between a regular lizard and a snake!
